The Spirit is Grieved

There seems to be an epidemic of sorts. I hope no one minds me sharing specific names, but I want to draw on the increase of this phenomenon just in our small little blog world. Many of us are finding ourselves weeping without explanation. First I thought I was going through some kind of hormonal change because I posted several times about the strange sorrow that would come over me, and it was contrary to my nature. I would begin to weep over the scriptures in places that never even effected me before. Then Berean Wife then shared about the sudden sorrow she felt one night, and it was at the exact same time that I was weeping on the way home without any specific reason. Then Jeannie sent me a private email about issues weighing on her heart and how she can't put into words what she feels- a sense of urgency over something she can't quite explain. Then Denise discussed her propensity to depression without any reason. Now today two of my blog friends, Jen and Kim have both posted about that weeping without any specific cause. And it really started me to thinking about why we are all so weepy. When I put it together with what I have been studying and learning lately, I truly believe it is a result of the grieving of the Holy Spirit. We are told that the world will be so wicked in the last days that it will grieve the Father as in the days of Noah- you know, when he destroyed everyone and everything else. If we love him and are connected to him so intimately, how can we NOT feel his sorrow?

Maybe I'm way off, but as things escalate toward the end (and I don't think you have to necessarily agree with eschatology in order for it to still be the case if you are filled with the Rauch HaKodesh) and the world becomes so proud of its evil and rebellion, the sorrows that scripture warns of us increase to the point that we are mourning even when we don't know why. If this is true, as hard as it is to be so sad and not have an explanation, it is actually a very good thing because it means we are really and truly in tune to the Spirit of Adonai. But it also means time is running out. There really is plenty to be sorrowful over in this world, especially considering the number of lost souls who are barrelling toward the point of no return without a bit of concern. When the world sanctions gay marriage, embryonic mixing, and stealing land from the Chosen People, those who belong to the Father cannot help but to be grieved.

"And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." Matthew 24

"For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then
look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh!" Luke 21

Wow. I have been feeling that way too. I was certain it was my circumstances here with dd, mixed with some hormones. I just watched a video and bawled my eyes out...it had such meaning, but now after reading your post, it's meaning is even greater. Tell me what you think...

I've also as of late been pondering how these things bother me and how much more so they grieve HIM ... very interesting.

oh and reading Joel chapter 2 that's always been a song sung at furch and hmmm an army that HE lets overtake the city ... was this when Babylon sacked them in 586 BC? sure many self proclaimed end time prophets want to take all the books on prophecy and specifically apply them to today but that may be the case as well but we can learn from the mistakes the nation in each passage did to allow their ruination....ah eye opening.

I want to go and visit the blogs you mentioned, very thought provoking. Personally, my life changed dramatically/forever a few year ago and sent me careening down a pit of despair, as I've come out of it I've often wondered if I'll ever feel the joy and exeruberance I used to experience. Often, I feel like the joy just leaks out of me, like I still have a spot that needs patching. Perhaps, it has nothing to do with my personal healing journey, perhaps the "leaking joy" is bigger. Thanks for giving me something to think about.

The Abomination of Desolation -

The false prophet ascends out of the bottomless pit (Re.11:7, Re.17:8, Ps.28:1). The bottomless pit is opened at the Fifth TRUMPET, the First Woe (Re.9:1-2, Re.9:12).

I believe that the false prophet will ascend from the bottomless pit 1335 days prior to the Seventh TRUMPET (1 Thess.4:16-17), 75 days prior to the ENFORCEMENT of the abomination of desolation.

The start of the three and a half year tribulation under the beasts of Revelation chapter 13 will occur once the abomination that makes desolate is SET UP (Lk.21:20, Dan.11:31, Dan.12:11 below), and then ENFORCED.

The abomination that makes desolate is a law that will be enacted that will cause that as many as will not worship the image of the beast should be killed (Re.13:15, Re.11:7, Re.12:17, Re.17:6, Dan.8:24, Dan.12:;6-7, Dan.7:21, Dan.7:25, Re.13:7, Re.16:6, Matt.24:9).

The law will be SET UP 1290 days (Dan.12:11 below) prior to the sounding of the Seventh, and final, Trumpet (1 Thess.4:16-17). Thirty days after the law is SET UP (1260 days, or three and a half years, prior to the Seventh Trumpet), the law will be ENFORCED.

When the law is SET UP (Dan.12:11 below) that will be the time that the 144,000 are to flee (Matt.24:15-22).

The 144,000 are protected during the three and a half years of tribulation (Re.12:14) when Satan goes after the rest of the seed of the woman (Re.12:17).

Lk.21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the DESOLATION (Dan.11:31, Dan.12:11 below) thereof is nigh.

Dan.11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the ABOMINATION THAT MAKETH DESOLATE (Dan.12:11 below, Lk.21:20 above).

Dan.12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate SET UP (Dan.11:31 above), there shall be A THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND NINETY DAYS (1290 days).

Beautiful post, and a full Amen, I actually had tears in my eyes reading the scripture you placed here, as they are the same scripture I too have been running across, while in devotion. We must remember too our spiritual attacks will grow more and more, because of these particular scriptures, in fact I was reminded the other day when I was trying to figure out why my neighbors across the way were avoiding me( I like to wave and say hey) and when I was like, in my head going ok I havent done anything except say HEY, why the cold shoulder these last few days, And I could feel my self began to be acting in the flesh" well just give them the cold shoulder back" but just as quickly as my thoughts were thinking that my heart was no, its because of who you are in Christ, dont give heed dont pay evil for evil, its because of ME( Christ). As I type this up I am literally getting tears in my eyes because its that real, I know its real, Another thing and I am sure these other ladies may attest to it, but I think this weaping is not the BOOOO WHOOOOO crying type wa waa waa, its literally that AHHHH MAN, this is not right, and knowing there is not that much we can do but stand fast and keep doing what we are each called to do..... Anyhow I hope you are having a great day....

this is so weird! I stumbled
across your blog and after
reading this post I am in utter
shock! For the past couple days
I have been worrying intensely,
crying while reading, watching tv,
cooking, surfing the web. I couldn't
understand where this anxiety and
sadness was coming from...but it
is a bit of a comfort to know I
am not going crazy! :) thanks for this!

Motherofmany,

Just last night I was emailing someone who was concerned about false teaching. I warned her not to spend much time dwelling on the false teaching because it will grieve the Holy Spirit in her. Seeing or hearing the sin of blasphemy will make a true Christian physically and emotionally sick. Today there seems to be so much blasphemy that we don’t have to even look for it.

The more aware we become of false teaching the more sensitive we become. Callous is the individual who ignores sin or worse, laughs at sin, especially when it involves the person and character of our Lord. Nevertheless, our Lord is in full control and nothing happens that is not in His plan so if we keep our eyes on Him we will do well.

Sorry I missed this the day you wrote it, but we have had a funeral for a family member this past week. There seems to me to be an escalation in deaths and a noticeable decrease in the age of those dying. I am beginning to wonder if that is a symptom of the world’s birth pains as we approach the return of our Lord.

I've been catching up with your blog today and when I read this post I went 'Oh'. It's like a light bulb came on when I realized that I'm not the only one and the reasons you gave make so much sense. Thanks Amy.
